Clinical Nurse Manager (OB GYN Gynecology & Obstetrics -SOM)

Job Description

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse manager who will plan and administer outpatient care services for clinical department. Collaborate with health care providers to establish standards of care for the specialty practices. Clinical and administrative oversight of both RNs and CMAs as well as PSCs. Responsible for working with Assistant Director of Nursing on all Human Resource matters to include scope of work, performance evaluations, as well as making sure the clinic is properly staffed. Responsible for nursing practice standards, regulatory compliance and performance improvement activities of the clinic operation.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Design, manage, and evaluate the systems through which patient care is delivered and maintain an efficient and cost-effective environment conducive to quality patient care.
  • Plan and monitor budgets in the areas of nursing personnel, medical-surgical supplies, equipment, and medications.
  • Coordinates and implements daily activities of IVF practice from cycle start to completion.
  • Provide instructional classes for IVF patients including medication instruction and administration.
  • Work with IVF team members (MD’s, RN’s, CMA’s, etc.) to develop and follow plan of care.
  • Assist with coordination of donor and surrogate cycles.
  • Provide Patient Triage.
  • Practice nursing per clinical policy and protocols for the GYN/OB department and under the nursing scope of practice for the State of Maryland.
  • Report to Division Director any issues related to development and implementation of medical protocols.
  • May perform case management services to patients from initial intake visit through termination of services.
  • Acts as a resource to providers for documentation assistance, barriers to referrals, and getting records.
  • May be required for weekend coverage as needed.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Individual must be a Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of Maryland or state where practicing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required. Master's degree in Nursing or business administration preferred.
  • Minimum of three years clinical nursing experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $87,400 - $152,900 Annually ($110,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University’s salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. Education and Experience Equivalency
Please refer to the job description above to see which forms of equivalency are permitted for this position. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
